Just as with the real Eurovision Song Contest, audience voting is absolutely critical, live and genuine. And yes, it 100% determines which country wins on the night.
The scoring app is completely accurate – and to ensure a nail-biting finish, hosts software to select the winning country by the last vote cast. 
No one gets “nul points”. Because that would be unkind.
